Mr Rogers was responsible for the regulation of all inlet, navigation, and beach nourishment projects for the State of Florida. These projects involved the dredging of inlets and by-passing of sand to down-drift beaches; the design and construction of inlet structures including jetties, navigation channels, sediment traps, sand bypassing facilities, coastal protection structures and beach nourishments. The analysis of projects involved hydrodynamic modeling of coastal and tidal processes, and sediment transport. Other responsibilities included the review of environmental impact studies; geotechnical sand source studies and field work; hard bottom mitigation plans; plans enhancement of native beach dune vegetation; and the coordination of construction activities to minimize impacts to nesting sea turtles. Responsible for periodic hydrographic surveys of beach nourishment projects to assess project performance. Major Projects Included: Multiple Coastal Protection Structures Project
