BLACK SWAMP WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT UPGRADE

Mr. Rogers prepared preliminary designs and a Preliminary Engineering Report for upgrades to an existing 0.6 MGD activated sludge wastewater treatment facility. The proposed design will increase the plant capacity to 1.6 MGD. A key feature of the design is that only three new structures are a required, a new sequential batch reactor (SBR) tank, a new chlorine contact tank and a new post aeration tank. The two existing flow equalization basins are to be converted to SBRs, the existing reactor to a flow equalization basins and pump station, and the existing clarifiers to post flow equalization for the SBRs.
